Scolymia Eating

I have a scolymia which i purchased at a discount from a LFS b/c it shipped rough, and was eating fairly well (you could see the feeder tentacles that come out around its mouth at lights out). Coloring was ok and steadily improving, and knowing that it was eating and it is a hardy piece, I felt confident taking the risk.

Shortly after purchasing it, it started to go downhill (coloring went almost white, and stopped/slowed eating. Since then, I've moved it to a lower light and lower flow portion of the tank where it has recovered and looks healthy.

Problem right now is, eventhough the coloring and everything has come back, I do not see the tentacles at night. It eats well again, however I must turn off all current in the tank and place mysis onto its mouth.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks.

I wouldn't worry to much.

mine go in phases where they will keep nice and tight even at night, and then go for a long period where they are almost always out. I've had one for almost 2 years that has done this off and on and looks great.

As long as you keep it in lower light, and its still eating, rest easy, you should be fine.
