Scooter Blenny needs a good home

Well, I received a scooter blenny (Bill) from a source about a month ago (I'm being purposely vague). That source made it sound like the scooter blenny is easy to take care of in terms of feeding.

AFTER I received Bill, I realized that they are special feeders who are probably most healthy with a lot of live rock and pods.

I've had him for a month in a 34 gallon nano, and he actually looks better than when I received him. However, the price I have to pay is spending lots of time syringe-feeding him mysis shrimp once a day.

Even if I can keep him alive, I think he'll do well in a big, pod-infested tank. He readily eats from the syringe and, in fact, nips at my fingers when they are in the tank. He paces back and forth on the front glass whenever he sees me- he is very, very personable.

He is the plainer light brown kind, but has red in his tail and blue highlights under my lights.

He's free to a good home.

Please, I'm only looking for inquiries from hobbyists who are more informed about taking care of these guys then I was :)

Just PM me if you are interested- I'm in Littleton.

Dave

If my tank was up and going I would get him. If he's still around in a few weeks, I'll let you know when I'm ready.

Hi, Space- welcome back to Denver.

You said you were setting up a nano, right? It seems like with a brand new nano, you're kind of in the same predicament I am in. Can you please clarify?

Can you have two in one tank? I have a perfect tank for him, as my other one has been doing well for a year now. I have tons of cocopodes to say the least. Let me know if you need a home, he can live in my joint.

Jreeceaspen,

Someone is supposed to be coming today to get him, but I'll keep you in mind if that falls though.

I don't think 2 in a tank would be a problem, except for competition for food. I would be concerned that 2 would be more likely to deplete your pods.

Deplete my pods! No way, not on a good day! When I clean my pads they fall off in the sink like tictacs all over and they are that size too! I have a 75 fuge that is chuck full of them.

Good grief, what did you do to get that many pods! The fuge?
Do you feed them anything?

Anyway, "Bill" is sold. Thanks for offering though- you were next in line.

Dave

I too have the same problem. the fuge is chocked full of pods. I have a mandarin that is fat and happy thanks to my pod infestation. I dose the tank with a lot of phytoplankton (kents) and that's what makes them breed like rabbits.
