it IS lookin good. Dang acrylic. Too bad it scratches so easily. It almost looks like the deeper scratches are OUTSIDE the aquarium :confused:
 
Some of those lines in the pics that look like deep scratches are actually reflected sunlight. They show up in pics but not in person.

(Don't worry, there's PLENTY of scratches on the inside! :lol: )
 
Is it still a super interactive teaching tool, or is it now just eye andy for the kids?

As much as I would love to teach a year-long reef ecology course, it just ain't happenin' for 7th graders.

That said, we do use it heavily for the ecology unit (symbiotic relationships, inter- and intra-species competition, cycles of matter, energy flow, etc.).

I get at least three questions a day about either the inhabitants or the hardware and there's always kids lined up around at the beginning and end of each class between bells. Lots of curiosity, which is good stuff, IMO.

It's definitely a crowd pleaser, but I also like to think that we're sparking interest in reefs, keeping aquariums, and potential future careers in science. :thumbsup:
