Scribbled Angelfish

Hello

How does one tell the difference between a male and female scrib. Angelfish?
A local fish store has one and it is a beautiful specimen. Does anyone have pictures of this fish?

just do a quick search on google of male/female scribbled angels. they are very easy to tell apart. any small scribbled (less than 4") will be female. they do not change into a male until about 5-6".

Here is a pic of the mature male Scribbled I had in my 300 gallon. The males tend to have clearly defined horizontal dark blue stripes down their sides. Their body is also longer than the females. Females have more a randomized dark blue pattern on their sides. I bought mine from a Hawaiian wholesaler that regularly got in 5+" males. It was a great fish that got along with the other angels in the tank.

If you dont mind me asking did the fish die from a disease or did the tank crash?

Neither, I sold it to an RC member in Long Island, NY when I broke down my 300 gallon. He actually took many of the fish I had in that tank, primarily butterflys and angels. The Scribbled was the gentle giant of the tank and was pretty much bullet proof while it went through QT and then entered the display. A great fish that I still miss.

if you get two females.. will one change to male and other stay female. can two female live together in a 500 gallon?

I have been looking for a smaller but I can't never seems to find them.

I see a lot of small Meredith ( false personifer ) but never a small one.
