Are there any divers in the club? I'm going to get certified soon and will need a dive buddy. My wife just doesn't care for it and I wan't to do some day trips at local lakes and quarries who rent equpiment for now. Money is way to tight to hit the ocean right now.

There is a few of us in the club who dive, Amy and I (scarson61 & acarson19), Jay (neuroslicer),Vicki (reefdiver77), and a few others. At one point we were trying to think of a way of doing a trip to Florida and do a dive on the reefs there. Hard to get Amy or I excited about quarrie dives but maybe this will get the conversation started again about doing a dive trip (we are going to Cayman in January!!!!)

But you and Amy are "cheaters" in that you have a "connection" in the Caymens!!

We should all be so lucky!!!!

I have been talking about getting certified, but we have not been able to find the time in our schedules right now.

You should just go with me Bill. Dowdle has a two night class from 5 to 10 pm and a two day open water check out. Their price is great too. I'm going the 15th and 17th and doing open water 8/2 and 8/3.

My brother is finally getting certified this month, so I am going to dive lake Norfork with him on August 1st and 2nd. You are welcome to come as this is a dive to get him more comfortable under water and get experience with buoyancy control. We will be using the Jordan Dive shop. Later I'll get him to do some ocean dives. Once you do those, freshwater seems bland.

My husband and I have been diving for 31+ years. We have not been diving in freshwater since we started diving saltwater. Of course we only get to go a couple of times a year. We did lots of diving at Lake Norfork and Greers Ferry in the 80's and then moved to Madison County, and those places were too far to go for a weekend dive. We are heading to Puerto Rico (Vieques and Culebra) the 19th for 2 weeks and will be diving there. There are several divers in the club and as Sanford said we would like to do a specimen collection dive as a club group in the Keys, hopefully next year.
