I visited Octopus's Garden today in San Diego and managed to p/u a nice encrusting monti similar to the sunset monti. The orange is not quite as dark and the green polyps are almost the same. I'll try and post a pic in a few days but it is quite a nice frag. Unfortunately the owner had an emergency so I did not have time to converse much with him but it seems the fish stores in this area have taken quite a hit due to the economy.

Just curious as to how you're transporting back from CA??? Do you check the coral or carry on?? Hope you have fun out there and bring back a bunch of goodies...

Not a bunch, just the one. I reduced the water to the allowable carry-on limit and put it in my pocket to go through security. No problems whatsoever. In the past, I've just checked my bag with corals (like when I got the Palmer's blue mille from Mike). Now that they're starting to charge for checking, however, it may not be as cost-effective.

How big is your palmers Blue now? I just picked one up this week, about 1.5 inches. I would love to see what yours is looking like. Mine was very brown when I got it but in 3 days it has started to show some metalic blue.
