Sea Apple Tank Inhabitants

Hi everyone,

I am planning to set up a 20-30gallon sea apple species only system, which i have decided to keep some NPS corals as the tank will require multiple daily feedings anyway and heavy maintenance. I was wandering if there are any other inhabitants that could be kept in the tank (no fish) nut maybe various filter feeding inverts? scallop? etc. Also what 'beginner' NPS corals are good to start out with? What types of NPS gorgonians typically do well in a high nutrient tank? i am aware that the blueberry gorgonians have a poor reputation.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Lewis:)

Two that come to mind are the pink filter feeding sea cucumber which is kind a half step between a cucumber and a sea apple. The other is a flame scallop which come in both red and white. There is one called an 'electric' flame scallop as well. Other cucumbers or fluorescing rock flower anemones might work as well?

Hi there,
I too have a sea apple. They are lovely creatures. What about feather stars? If you can take care of them, I believe they can become wonderful tank specimens. Fan worms are filter feeding too, but they don't move their tentacles. What about the other sea cucumbers? Like yellow and spiny (pink filter feeding)? For the NPS, I would recommend a sun coral.

Great Suggestions

In regards to the sea apple, what are you feeding? and how often? and are you keeping fish with your apple?

Thanks, Lewis:)

I dont do anything special for now although I might give it phyto once I can get my hands on some. For now I just feed it along with my other corals with the same food, 2 tsp. a week. Yes, I am keeping fish with him.
