sea hare has earned his keep

Not sure what your plans are but if you're willing to rent him out I have a friend who is in need of one! Please let me know. Lots of hair algae for him/her to munch on

Rocking mine for three months now. He comes out like clock work 1 hour before halides out. Call him fuzzy butt lol. Might be time to release him soon though.

yep mine comes out when whites are off for the most part. still has a few small patches to clean up. but has made a world of difference in my tank. funny thing is I just read a article today saying not to use them as when they stress or die they can release toxins and wipe out a tank . hmmm

Oh, definitely this is something to watch. Look closely at his butt, there are two... Uhem holes. When the slit between these two holes opens up (there is a slit that runs between them), something is wrong and the mortality rate increases.

Interesting I have looked closely at him and never noticed the slit . That met be a good thing . I have witnessed it pooping though

Tis a small black crooked slit between the two holes. Once open it looks to be a white bone underneath, like cartilage.

how did you guys acclimate yours. I picked one up but it did not survive more then a day. I want to try to buy another one but want to make sure everything is done correctly this time.

This is just something that can happen. With most inverts you should drip, but I have not with the hares, only temp acclimate. I have lost three out of six within a day.

I acclimated mine for lie six hours as I heard they were very sensitive. I don't drip I float bag and remove some water and and use a turkey Bastet to slowly add water removing water every so often as I go . This worked well for me

Oh, and once you have the vile weed, it is always there, always! When my Mg drops I see patches again. Raise Mg and all gone. JMO

I am raising it now with Tech M. Not sure WHERE it came from as this is a new tank.. Never EVER had it before.... I am hoping it is not going to be an issue, I JUST set this tank up to "RESTART" cause my tank was hopelessly GHA infested and Phos dominated
