Sea Hare

I have a bit of lobophora algae I want to get on top of. On the Marine Depot forum someone said that they had a sea hare and it mow3ed the stuff down in record time.

Anthony Calfo agreed, so I figure maybe it might work! Anyone know where you can get one locally? I think MS had them at one time.

Is there a fish that will eat the stuff?

Sea hares are great . Just make sure you have somekind of foam over your intakes to your powerheads . They love to get sucked in to those .

I hope that it will do the job on some lobophora algae that came in as a hitch hiker on my rock. Want to try and get on top of it before it gets worse.

Brown wafer algae I guess is the common name. I read on the MArine Depot forums that a sea hare worked well for someone. Anthony Calfo seemed to concur, so I suppose I will try as well.

I never saw my sea hare touch my Lobophora but there are many different species. I've read that Naso Tangs are the only fish pretty much guaranteed to eat it since their brown algae specialists.

My lobophora has receded as the hair algae has increased. One evil for another I guess.
