sea horses and pipefish

Why did you want to tear that down? Was a very nice looking set-up. You might of decrease the amount of tanks, but you manage to increase the gallonage (Is that a word?) with one tank. LOL! Can't wait to see the pic of that one.

yes "gallonage"is a word here on RC but you may not find it in a Websters dictionary .
Tim , the reason was two fold as it was somewhat a pita to get all the tanks sand beds clean on a regular basis. cleaning wasn't the issue but the way it was set up i could only siphon 20ish gallons of water at a time of my sump would run dry and i couls only do 4 tanks at a time . also the system was in my somewhat small man cave ,11'x12'6" and i made a very large error when i installed them . i made it far enough from the walls so i could get behind the tanks to work which was completely unnecessary as once i built it i never went behind them for any reason .the room had tanks on three walls and a door way on the fourth so it really shrunk my room real fast .so in the end i could only fit a flat screen TV on the wall next to the door way and a swiveling recliner in the center ,if i lay back in the recliner it would almost hit on both ends . after four years of that BS i decided to get a few feet of space back and the tanks were removed .
oh yes and i forgot the 65 to 80 fish and their cost to feed in the 12 tanks got a little overwhelming along with my coral addiction that i was housing in five other tanks just started losing its ''funappeal'' (is that a word?) . lol
the monster tank is something that i have had in ther back of my head for quite some time and i am in the process of collecting the necessary pieces and parts for it as we speak . really can't wait !

Did you sell the old set up or did you break it down? I really liked the was it looked. Lucky for me, I am only allow/agree to keep my tanks in one room. Othwise it would've gotten out of control. LOL!

i still have the entire set up but have used the filter ie.100gal sump, skimmer,uv sterilizer, and refuge for all my other five tanks as they are all plumbed into the basement .
i will be "recycling" the panels ,trim and framing for my monster tank when that day comes .i also have the lights for it but may switch over to T5s instead of my twin 250 mh's . until i get there i will save everything as it just doesn't make sense to sell off components and then purchase them later .just plain saves money that way and it will be quite an expense as it is for a 300 gal tank to get up and running . as it is now all i will need is some powerheads and plumbing supplies as i will just hook it into my existing basement sump setup .
