Hi everyone!!
I have a 30G with live rock, 4 huge snails, 2 clown fish so far.
Want to add in 1 or 2 Sea Urchin, are they compatable? Wat does Sea Urchin eat? Cos I will put in reef eventually, so are they compatable too?

second question is.. I was reading online and saw seahorse and clown fish are not compatable? can anyone tell me whether this is correct and why?

Thanks a million~ please help~~~~ newbie!

I don't think you'll have any problems with the fish, but what you might have problems with is them knocking stuff over when they move around, also if you have an acrylic tank they have been known to put scratches in the walls with their mouths when they climb on it and feed.

Certain fish will eat sea urchins....some Triggerfish will do that, for example. Sea urchins are heavy algae eaters. They'll even eat the coraline algae that grows on live rock.

Seahorses are "incompatible" with Clownfish because like most other fish, the Clownfish are faster swimmers and a seahorse in the same tank with a Clownfish wouldn't be able to compete with the Clownfish for food. Putting too much food in the tank so that the seahorse would be certain to get some is a formula for overfeeding and would have a strong tendency to cause an elevation of nitrates and phosphates and a consequent algae problem. So, it's a bad idea to keep seahorses, not only with Clownfish, but with almost any other fish and seahorses generally should be kept in a species aquarium, maybe with some pipefish but that's about all.

my reef ran for well over ten months then one day out of nowhere there was a nickle sized rock urchin on my glass. hitchhikers are cool no matter what they are! left him alone, minds his own business and is actually kinda pretty. started feeding bits of nori and he loves it. noticeable growth in size in almost two weeks. i usually feed 1-2 small feedings a week.
