Seachem Aquavitro....?

Whats the opinion on these new line? Alpha, Balance, eight.four, ions, calcification, vibrance, and fuel all look promising. But so do a lot of other things. Balance says it will "reset the carbonate/bicarbonate ratio by converting bicarbonate into carbonate...". Is that possible (R.H.F please)?

Ions says its the only mag supplement that does not contain ammonia. Is this true?

Feedback from anyone would be nice.

Balance is like limewater without the calcium. I'm not sure I see its utility, except in unusual circumstances, like high calcium salt mixes to support alkalinity and pH.

I do not understand much of what Seachem has written there (like the boron part, which they really like, relative to any other manufacturer), and do not agree with it. They have a huge fear of ammonia in magnesium chloride that has prevented them from offering products with it. I cannot tell if this now contains magnesium chloride or not, but their previous product (essentially Epsom salt plus sodium chloride) was not ionically balanced by their own admission due to this fear.

I pointed out a source of magnesium chloride with low ammonia to them. Maybe they are now using it. I see no reason to worry particularly about other products. MAG flake has been tested by folks and found adequately low. But that said, i do agree that ammonia in magnesium chloride CAN be a concern. But it is certainly not unsurmountable.

Im confused  they worry about adding a little ammonia to there product, but check out what is in the "fuel"...

fuelâ"žÂ¢ contains ascorbic acid in a base of chlorella, Minerals in Chlorella include: phosphorus, calcium, zinc, iodine, magnesium, iron, and Copper .

:eek1:

I think they are using the "everything is ok in moderation" approach there. Copper (i can be wrong here) is ok in small (<.1 ppm) amounts in most aquaria.

I called them as well and they told me the samething about the ammonia issue.

I just bought some from Bulk Reef Supply (Mag Cloride)
should I be conserned with ammonia
