If you think your batch of Aquavitro might be bad, I think testing some freshly-mixed saltwater and the fresh water source for nitrate would be a good idea.

I've never tested my freshly mixed water but I've got undetectable Nitrates in my tank.... granted that's using an API test kit. I do not have any algae issues besides my chaeto growing at a mad rate.... I feed heavy as well.

I also have found that mag seems low at times; however, this salt is formulated with relatively low mag for some reason.
