Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand

Anyone have photo's of their tanks using this sand? I love the look of the sugar sized sand but fear sand storms so I'm wondering if this might stay in place a little better. Does it look as rough as crushed coral?

I currently have 2 6101's in a 120G but might add a nano-wavebox at a later date. Should the Seaflor stay in place for the most part?

Do you currently have any sand in your tank? How old is it?

And what makes this "seaflor" sand any better/different than anything else out there?

Currently running bare bottom but considering adding a shallow sand bed. DaveG99 is correct, it is a larger granule.

But then isn't that the same/similar to using crushed coral? Or how much larger is the granule than normal?

That is the question ;)

According to CaribSea the sugar sized stuff is 0.1mm - 1.0mm while the SeaFlor Special Grade Reef Sand is 1.0mm - 2.0mm. I don't know the size of crushed coral or how those sugar sized stuff relates to this other stuff visually.

(edit to add)
I just found Crushed Coral on CaribSea's site and they list it as Geo-Marine Florida Crushed Coral with a size of 2.0mm to 5.5mm.

Still love to see any photo's of peoples tanks using the Seaflor Special Grade if they have it.

I am using it in all of my tanks.

Just added some more to my 75, I have two MJ SureFlows in that tank, along with the return pump (( about 500 GPH, throttled back ))

The sand dunes on the left hand side are from the clowns, and not from the powerheads moving the sand,

This might help with the grain size, this is a Tongan Nass snail (( the large ones ))

Looks to be about the same size as what I have.

I have a small bag of the arag-alive + 10lbs of the LS flown in from Fiji. For $4/lb for the Fiji LS, I thought it was worth it. And this was at a LFS, so no S&H on the sand.

I've been using the caribsea seafloor grade for years, or sometimes mixed w/ calcite sand same grain size.
I've been very happy w/ it, no sandstorms at 40x turnover or so, and not at all like CC, or the nitrate sink that comes w/ it.

Thanks guys, if I do end up putting sand in I think I found the product.

BTW, any others that might want to post photo's are welcomed and appreciated. :D
