I will need to wait a day or two to see if his tummy gets bigger, but hes looking prego to me.

should be a h. comes i beleive. I have had the pair for about 2 weeks.

I think the flow is a little high in the tank since they dont swim much.

Yes, the seahorse appears to be h. Comes but I can't tell from the pic if it's pregnant or not.

One comment on your tank, the aquascaping is nice and would work well with coral placement (if it were a reef tank)... but IMO, you do not have nearly enough 'hitches' in the tank since this is a seahorse tank, and not a reef tank.

Best of luck with the horses!

Hi Drewber,
I agree with Tom, you really need more hitches for the horses.
They should be scattered through the tank and be sure and place a comfortable hitch in a lower flow area for them to rest and also to get away from the lights when they choose to.

If your male is pregnant, he will become much more reclusive and need a place he can retreat to.

Good luck.

ill work on getting some more hitches right away. thanks for the advice. Been wanting to get more any way. even though theres like 80 lbs or rock in there, it looks bare to me. IMO

I like the way you have most of the rock on one side, with just a bit in the middle and the other side empty. Gives plenty of room on that side for unobstructed swimming/breeding while the other side allows you to place seahorse-safe corals, shrooms, polyps, zoas close to the lighting. Good job, IMO.

update,

new hitches, I just paid $9.99 a pound for a peice of live rock... take a look worth every penny. Within minutes the seahorses were on it, So i put in another decoration and some pvc for them to get on while i look for another bueaty of a rock like this one :)

just glad the rock only weighed 2 pounds, came right out of the display tank.

while i was at it, I drilled a few extra holes in the spraybar, then moved it closer to the top with some zip ties, untill im in the mood to remove the rock, so I can get the power head out, and do a redesign. This keeps the hole front of the tank on the lower part a low flow area. They are starting to come out more already. I guess the love the changes. Thanks for suggestions and looking for more :)

Also I picked out another rock that has a mushroom coral on it, are they sea horse safe? if not how much light do they need? and what do they eat.
