Seahorse tank

My son is wanting to setup a seahorse tank we have a 36 bow front would that be a good size? how many could you eventually have is a tank that size

2 to 3 depending on the species. do your research first . use the web most books are out dated.

Do you think about 1 per 10-12 gallon?

the rule of thumb is 1 pr for 30g another 1 for every 15 g but this also depends on filtration . i recommend running a good skimmer over rated.

My Thoughts on Seahorse Keeping
Check out the links at the bottom of the page the link goes to.
Those links will provide a lot of the basics you should know before getting into the seahorse keeping hobby. There is also a link that gives a chart for recommended tank sizes for various species.
As mentioned however, most standard sized seahorses like reidi and erectus should have 29/30g for one pair and and extra 15g for each additional pair.
