SeaHorse

If you do things right, it should still be harder than a reef tank, primarily because more husbandry is required.
That doesn't mean that they will all perish if not done to recommendations as there are a way to many variables.
You just increase your odds of success by doing things recommended ways, but that being said, it doesn't guarantee success.
You could check out the links at the bottom of "My Thoughts on Seahorse Keeping" that are written by experienced seahorses keepers and a respected seahorse breeder.

it matters what seahorse your talking about all seahorses should be with their own species though. if you want a dwarf seahorse they are the easiest to take care. If you know their special needs. Their are other one but they are extremely harder to take care and need a bigger tank. If you want to start out with dwarf seahorses which i would recommend go to www.ccritter.com very cheap wholesale

FWIW, I wouldn't recommend zots (H. zosterae/dwarfs) as a first SH. The generally require live food a couple of times a day, which means that unless you have a LOT of pods someplace, you'll be hatching Artemia daily. To be honest, we never kept zots because it would be like having SH fry 365 days a year (regarding hatching food).

Your best bet will be getting a pair of true CAPTIVE BRED erectus, reidi, or kuda. I strongly recommend getting them from SEAHORSE SOURCE. Dan, Abby, and the girls are great folks, and their livestock is top notch.
