Sean's ever lasting battle 125g in-wall SPS

Nice... hey Sean, what bulb combo are you using? Also how do you like that nikon d 3300?. Im about to buy one or the 5300. Dont know yet.
On a side note, let me know when you are ready to frag that sc orange passion. I dont care if its a nub with one polyp on it lmao

I'm running blue+, actinic, figi purple, coral+, blue+, coral+ front to back.

I love my Nikon. I really have no idea what I'm doing and the pics look good lol. I really had no need to spend more on the 5300

The orange passion is gonna be a little while but I'll hit you up when it's ready.

Actually just pulled out the actinic for another blue + to see how that goes

Same thing here, i removed the actinic and put in a abs. So kzsb,c+,kzsb, abs, kzsb,c+. Trying to get faster growth, by sacrificing color a little bit. Sunnyx ran his tank like that with good results , so im hoping for the same

Everything looks awesome.

Are you colors still looking as good?

How many days since you have quit the Pro Bio S?

I have been slowly stopping AF dosing to see if there was any difference in Nitrates. Colors have suffered a little due to all the changes and I lost a couple frags. Honestly, I think the 2 best additives are Micro E and Coral E.

You can see from the chart when I started having the nitrate problems. The first drops are all from large water changes, then you can see it went up again. Then I stopped probios about a week ago and now I am at 5 as of today.

Current dosing is:
Coral E 6 drops
Micro E 6 drops
Component B 15 drops (this is under dosed, but when I dosed these three at this level, colors were awesome, and algae was dying)

Also just started using Zeomix today.

I also have a algae problem that literally will not go away.

Sean its time for picks bud.

A couple weeks, I need colors to bounce back from some of the changes.

The wall is awesome!

Thank you!

What are your thoughts, is it the Pro Bio S driving the nitrates?
I am interested in the three items you are currently dosing. Awesome colors and dying algae is a good thing. I will read up on these three.

I do weekly WCs of 17 gallons in a 60 G system so this helps some of my export and trace elements. I am hoping that the Pro Bio S can drive up bacteria

I would think a few regular WCs with the limited dosing would keep the nutrient load down till the algae is under control.

At least my bottle is, I believe. I am having a huge byropsis problem right now that has been going on for about 6 months. I kill it and it comes back.

I primarily use the standard 18-55mm. Camera is set on Aperture mode, ISO 100-200, auto white balance and I shoot in RAW format.

I adjust the white balance in the editing software to get the color close to what you see with your eyes.

What aperture are you shooting at? Must be pretty open with an ISO that low. Or. You hands steadier than the terminator lol!

Also known as SpotBreast Swallowtail Angels.

Don't mind Eddie, he's stuck reefing in the 80s with his halides and love for kalk.....:lol2:

Yes, I run an 80's tank, and it does just fine....:hammer: However, I stopped kalk when I got the old 80's style calcium reactor going. :jester::jester:

As open as it can be!

You lost the Angels'?, like in both?

RO skimmers are very nice organic pullers!!

Yes unfortunately. Sore subject and I had it out with a LFS up here in Palm Beach. I'm lucky I didn't lose the rest of my tank

Interesting that a lot of folks running AF are having very high nitrates. There are a few tanks here that have had their best color when nitrates were extremely high.

Agreed. I'm not sure if its primarily a export issue with an overload of bacteria, ect.

I can tell you that once I cut back on the products, my algae issues returned and color worsened. I started up recently again to see what happens
