Sean's ever lasting battle 125g in-wall SPS

Anyone ever experienced this

I have zero phosphates on a Hanna checker. Obviously I am phosphate limited, I'll post some pics later but coral colors are incredible nothing brown, ect

The only thing is my return pump started leeching electricity and was wondering if that may be the cause for the extremely high nitrates. Not sure if it is creating a reaction imbalance especially with all the micro elements im dosing with the aquaforest

Wow that's high! Could be what's in the AF products. Like Zeo, there may be nitrate laced in there. I'm assuming you are not running GFO. May want to try upping the feeding and laying off the dosing, but I am no AF expert, actually I know nothing of it. I would just be worried I would be walking a tight line and any more of imbalance would have a negative impact.

I also agree we need more pics!

Yea, thats what I am wondering. No one else dosing AF products have this issue, which is why I am wondering if the electricity is causing an activation, much like a sodium hypochlorite generator. I would know more if I had an ammonia or nitrite test kit..

the pump has probably been leeching for about a month which lines up with when I started to see the creep up of nitrates.

Hopefully swapping it today so we will see what happens.

Here are some pics to show you colors. Some are not the clearest but at least you can get an idea.

These were taken the same day that nitrate test was preformed

Dude your colors are amazing!!!!. Get your test kits, toss them out the window and you will be good. Seriously looking good. Or you could ask Matt, and see what he thinks. He is the AF guru here after all.

Btw what is that red acro.. me want it :)

Seriously, Pete (dadummy) text me the same thing haha. Im more like rovster as I think I am treading a fine line here.

I have no idea what is going on....hopefully pulling the faulty pump does it. Im waiting on a water change to see if it starts to drop with the AF bacteria and carbon. Maybe the voltage is also killing beneficial bacteria..who knows

Which one? The milli? its more blue with red polyps just hard to get the blue to come out

lookin good Sean, third one down is the blue mille? I see the resemblance in the OP you are talking about. Are you sure you didn't mix up sodium nitrate in an amino solution? if you did I want some lol

Yea it's the blue Millie. I just can't get a good color rendition on the photo.

I may have mixed sodium nitrate up haha

Colours are really coming through. Loving your progress and the photos are excellent too.

Back when I could reliably grow acros my nasuta showed how much it liked high nitrates.

Note all the bubble algae and spots of cyano. Unfortunately as soon as PO4 started to rise and I dropped Nitrates the color faded and eventually browned out.

Frustrating. :)

man that looked awesome. if its not one thing its another. I just was shocked when I saw it, as i have never had high nitrates like that in the 15 years I have been reefing
