Seaswirls????

I have a 54g corner tank and I use one for each outflow, on a T, opposing each other.

The lps corals grow rapidly: the motion makes their tentacles toss gently, which is the motion they 'like' for feeding. The flow gets to odd corners of the tank.

Additionally, water pressure on lps is intermittent, therefore not battering.

One of the most gratifying things about this arrangement is the action of the fish---they have to adjust to a continually changing current, and this breaks up 'perimeter pacing' and other neurotic behaviors. They have to work their fins, and I think this keeps them healthy.

One of mine is now in its second year of use, with no problems, despite having spent a year illegally mounted centrally on the overflow, where it got a lot of salt creep. Hardy mechanics on these units, and well-sealed.
