Seaweed

I purchased a Green Ricordea attached to an ark clam from reeftopia.com. Its seems to have what appears to be seaweed growing on it. is this possible and if it is seaweed, could it be used in a refuge. Its actually intertwined with the Ricordea.

I'm not sure if you are using "seaweed" in a general sense or a literal one. Genuine seaweed grows extremely large and can actually tie-up the propellers on ocean-liners and air-craft carriers.

What you have is likely caulerpa. Can you provide an image?

Yes, more likely a form of macroalgae.
Some are desireable while others are a nuisance.
A pic will help with a positive ID.
