Sebae cycle???

I have a 3 year old Sebae that currently hosts a spawing pair of Ocellaris. My question is do nems normally go through a cycle of expelling their zoanthellae (sp) shrink and turn white, then grow like crazy, brown up and expand? This is the second year in a row that it's done this and it was around this time last year as well. I'll give tank specs if you think it matters but the tank is in my office at work so I pay closer attention to it then I ever did when I had it at home. Let me know what you think. I'll try and post some pics if I get a chance.

As far as I know, that is not normal. Specs would definitely help, and a pic too, if possible. Offhand, my first thought is summer heat. Is the tank near a window?

With "bradleym" on this one -- this isn't normal. And given that they seems to happen at the same time each year, I would think it is temp related. Or, your town does something to the water each year -- are you using RO/DI water?

I would also suspect a temp spike. High temps cause bleaching in nature and it can in tanks as well.

That would make some sense. Everybody has their paws on the thermostat in the office and I just recently found that my temp probe was off by quite a bit. I'll try and upload a pic. Got a good one today of my clowns with their little egg patch. Oh, and yes I use RO/DI water.
