Sebae won't attatch!

I recently bought a white sebae anemone about three inches in diameter. I can't figure out why he won't attatch to anything though! He doesn't extend his basal disk at all, and he just floats around. What could be wrong? how can i help him?

If it's white, it's probably really unhealthy.

I was told that it was perfectly healthy, and that it was supposed to be white. but i'm just worried about it's attatching. anybody?

You where told wrong. LFS are great about that...

I'd just keep the fingers crossed...

Mine was pretty bleached when I got him, and took his time attaching, but ended up in the sand with his foot reaching up under some rock... He's coloring up now.

okay, tonight i came home to try to feed my anemone in hopes of it being okay, and one half of it was deflated. It seems to have attatched, but it won't really grasp ahold of the food (spirulina enriched krill) what should i do? or can i do? try to feed again, or wait it out?

if he's attached that's a little better than how he was doing...

Seriously, your LFS sold you a bum H. Crispa... You're doing the right thing. All you can do now is more of what you're doing, and cross your fingers.

okay, thanks, i'll keep trying it then. I wish my clowns would start to host him, that might help him out?

i think u should keep your clowns away from it until it gains strenght.clowns then to be kind of brute to anemones.

I have the same issue with mine, just been floating for days now. wont attach to anything. Its a royal PITA.

yeah, your having clows mess with him right now probably won't help the situation...

Keep your head up though, mine gave me fits for about a week... He's Colored up a lot now, and eating anything that comes near him!

yeah, he was deflated again tonight, but i'm still going to fight with him and see what happens. I'll keep you posted when something does happen.

oh man sea salt, I really hate that! But at least you know your anemone's eating and healthy! lol But seriously that's horrible.

umm no its not, because I took the clown from it ... but I am about to feed it. I really hope it attaches soon and does not eat anymore of my clowns.

Are you sure it "ate" your clown seasalt dreams? Planted happy anemones will quite readily eat, and if yours has been floating for days, I find it HIGHLY unlikely it would actively be looking to eat. In addition, you probably wouldn't have been able to take "the clown from it". When clowns are hosting, they'll go to the point of even entering an anemone's mouth. It doesn't mean that it's eating the clown.

oh it ate it alright, it was dead when I took it away, seemed trapped in a cocoon of mucous. I just fed it some shrimp, and it grabbed them all out of my hand, and the darwins, who are in the anemone right now fought off the cleaner shrimp from taking the food I just fed it.
