wow, that stinks. But my nem finally took some food this morning. Still not in the best of health though.

Well I hope he comes around for you. I got a new clown to replace my eaten one today, and my anemone is being guarded by my other 2 clowns.

i had the same thing happen to me.my pink haitian ate my copperband.but then again pink haitians are known to be very agressive.but with yours its weird because usually lta's are not that agressive.yours is a lta right?

are all of your clowns the black saddlebacks? ( i believe that's what they are, i can't really tell) They're really cool looking.

If this was meant for me, no, only 2 of them are saddlebacks, A.Polymnus (yellow faces). The other 2 are black missbarred A. ocellaris.(orange faces) .. and thanks :)

MIKE ALERS .. yep, its an LTA. A very unsettled one.

haha, a very disgruntled LTA who's ready to take it out on the tank. You should make a complaint box! lol

or take it out on my fish. It ate one of my saddlebacks then died the next day. Its a relief to have that thing gone I'll tell ya!

Sorry no pics at the moment. I'm very bad at picture taking, and every time i try to take one of him, it just turns out to be a white cloud on the screen. So... you know. But I've noticed that at night he expands moreso than during the day, does anyone know what would cause this? Is he just craving more light?

okay, update. Unless my hopeful eyes are deceiving me, my nem seems to be coloring up a bit. he looks like a very pale tan color is appearing. he still hasn't eaten though, do you think it'll be okay? I've had him a few weeks.

Here's my story for what it's worth: I bought a beautiful sebae and it too was bleached. The best thing I did for it was to purchase an anemone crab--geez, the nem perked up within hours. It settled down and started to eat. Then I bought it a clown and the nem hosted quite quickly. It sounds like yours is doing better and I applaude you; they are beautiful animals. Also, Toddrtrex knows a lot about anemones so perhaps you could ask him for any additional tips!

I am feeding it raw shrimp from the grocery store...I walked up to the seafood counter and said "5 shrimp please, of the 31-40 count." The clerk replied "5 pounds?" I replied "No, 5. Just 5. You know, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5." The clerk at the seafood counter looked at me kind of strange and then proceeded to put 5 shrimp in to a small bag and put a label on it...cost me all of $0.75!

As for feeding it, here is the method I'm using...first, I thawed one shrimp in water...I cut it in slices then cut each slice in half...I put those slices in a zip-lock bag and put them back in to the freezer...I feed every other day, sometimes every day...I get out 1 piece and thaw it in some tank water...then, I reach in to the tank with the piece of shrimp and put it directly over top the 'nems mouth (or where I think the mouth should be if I can't see it)...I do this while I'm feeding my fish as well, because otherwise they would smell the shrimp and take it from the 'nem...made this mistake the first time I fed it and the fish made off with the shrimp piece within 10 seconds...darn buggers! The 'nem takes about 10 minutes or so, but it slowly wraps a few tentacles onto the side of the food and it very slowly disappears into the mouth...after feeding, it likes to puff itself up nice and tall, almost as if it's showing off or something!! :lol2:

Anyway, by doing this, my nem is starting to get it's brown back...it is coming in small specks on the ends of the tentacles and it isn't shrinking quite as much at night...plus one of my clowns is now hosting in it...the 2nd clown is thinking of hosting...has been in a few times but not a whole lot...

Keep at it and have some patience...if you follow the advise of the guys that posted in my thread you may have a chance of saving your H. Crispa that the LFS darn near killed before selling it to you...

I also feed mine raw shrimp and feed much the same way, except I feed the whole shrimp at once, and about once a week. I just wiggle the piece in the anemone and it grabs it and pulls it in. If the cleaner shrimp try to take the food, the clowns that live in the anemone attack them.

The difference is though, your 'nem is probably healthy and mine is not yet back to full health...I'm sure once mine is back to full health, I will probably feed it much the same way as you...and I'm sure even at that point the clown (or hopefully both) will be totally hosting in the 'nem by that point and will feed it Mysis as I feed them...that is my hope anyway... ;)

One thing to keep in mind for others reading this thread, a stressed anemone doesn't like to be extra stressed by having food presented to it every day... :)
