Im finally goign to be able to go to the inlet to collect. I am going with my friend Dan and we are going with alot of gear and lots of excitement. IDK what we will find or how we will catch it all, but just goign will be awesome. Brannon gave me some great info on where to go and what i will need, but i am always open for suggestion.s If you can give an idea or list of what we can find, and where, and how to catch them, that would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Seth

I have no suggestions, Im just excited that youre finally going to get to go!!!! Congrats, and I hope you find some awesome stuff!!!

mee too, i think we will, baught my liscenses today (then read that we dont need them if collecting from the shore...lol) But i have one jus tin case.... :)

once you go collecting you'll realize you want hem anyway because you'll soon want to leave the shore and go into the ocean :)

Are you skippin school or is it spring break ? :):) Good luck let us know what you find!!

you kidding I think I skipped more classes than I went to in college.
I found a bunch of those sand snails the one with the 1 antenna (narcus or something) and some hermits, 2 kinds I think that or I found giant hermits I just took the ones with the conical shell I'm used to and tossed the giants back because I know some hermits are bad for the home aquarium, I just went to the first beach there right by the parking lot and started flipping rocks over and searching the bottoms of the rocks for snails. You can find starfish and rock anemones and sea cucumbers in there too apparently but I never saw any.

You have to go to the south side of the inlet for the starfish, cucs, etc.

Most of the time you can find the anemones at the base of the jettis located at the tide pool. It's pretty hard to find them if you don't know what you are, simply because the anemone is fully retractable, and spends 50% of its time retracted, especially when it is very sunny out.

Good Luck Guys!!! Call me if you need any help.

get me another sea hare would you - a green one - my anem ate him :-( he was the coolest- actually dont get me one - cause the anem is still holding on and i want to get a rbta any ways and i dont want him to die either - it seems they like eating them. you should find tons of stuff we did

and this is why most people avoid atlantic anemones LOL :) I'm sort of cringing hoping the cool pretty ones you guys have already cauhgt aren't going to go bonkers on your livestock (looks like the mantis had just heard the rumor before anyone else and took matters into his own hands)

I thought sea hares were poisonous and not etible...guess I was wrong.

Hexed, there were classes that I went to school for tests only in. Actually, about 3/4 of my classes were like that. Probably didn't do as weel as if I showed up for more than 3-5 days of the year, but they are SOOOOOO boring and I have bad ADD.

Yeah in College you sort have a bit more discretion about when to show up and when not to. Like the day after a test? nah. Day before and day of? YES! haha

I have a professor who lectures off of hand written notes he hands out.. zzzzzzzzzz

At least in college you're directly paying (more so than tax dollars for public grade school) for what you take so its kind of an incentive to show up :)

Hell, I paid more for one year of high school than I did for every year of college. For all this money I was allowed(forced) to wear nice pants every day, no denim, no rivets, a collared shirt, a tie, shoes below the ankles(no boots), hair above the collar, no facial hair...might give you a better understanding of why I turned out the way I did:). I've always been a hippie at heart.

Uhhh what gosh awful high school did you get sent to? :)

I had scholarships up until my 4th year or so then those ran out and I am paying maybe $600-$1200 out of pocket each semester depending on the classes I take plus books.. If i had that kind of money in high school I'd ... probably have fish tanks back then :)

The nem that was killed by the mantis wasnt one of the ones that Brannon collected. It was an extra with his TBS package. The nems that he did collect havent hurt anything. Cleaner shrimp stands on one all the time, and he never once has he tried to eat them. So far, they have proven to be model citizens :)

My bad! so much anemone talk it gets garbled in my head. That and i like to post on here when i wake up in the mornings. Please send more caffeiene my way :)

yup - the anem isnt from the ocean - store bought Haitian

Last time I checked Haiti was in the Caribbean Sea aka Atlantic Ocean

The Bolles School was my god-awful high school. I had no money in high school...I was working two jobs during the summers and one during the year to support my wrestling summer camps and a whole array of other things.

You are confusing my parents with me:). They may had money, but I'd have been lucky to snag a falling quarter:)

mrcrab, when they said that, I believe their implication was not that the anem was not in the ocean, but that they did not collect it from the ocean and instead bought it at a store.
