i have unfortunately gotten the wrong anemone, wanted a bubble tip and read about sebea before i went and after i came home it was found outthatthe first page i read was all the wrong info,. question can it survive under cf lites? i have a 30g long with 192watts cf,..
i know it likes high light but i cant afford a mh lite as of yet and besides i'm new to these and i think it might be way too much electric user for my home my electric is out of this world now,.. and were not well to do,.

any info will be appreciated,..
been feeding it and it seems better than it was a t store, i could return it but then it damning it to certain death,.

can some one on here perhaps take it and trade me a small bta, or what ever will go good in my tank with black ocelaeris clown
i know that it will out grow my tank but i have afew fw tanks i could switch over ifi need to,. but for now i'm just a newbe,..

It bet it would be okay under those lights in a 30 long. I'm assuming they are PC bulbs?

They wouldn't be enough in the long term but they'll do for now.

What color is it?

you have 6.4 watts per gallon on the tank.for that sebae that would be plenty.sebae anmones are not hard to keep at all.your anemone will live.

It won't die under those lights, but it may climb up on rocks for more light.(and they are normally sand dwellars liking DSB)
They seem to like pretty strong light from my exp.

I doubt the lighting will be your problem here. PC lighting at high enough wattage with glass and reflectors kept clean and bulbs replaced as they should be is capable of sustaining H. crispa for its long life. The problem, however, that I see from reading your post is your oclellaris clowns have less of a chance of hosting with the H. crispa than they would have with a BTA. Also a 30g is just large enough for the anemone itself and really nothing else. That goes for both anemones, the H. crispa probably growing larger more quickly than a BTA but still eventually overtaking the entire tank.

i read on one website they were good for ocelaris but after i bought it, and relookedthe up all the other sites said that bta were best, so i'm ticked,.. this was the only reason i bought this one i thought they would like it,..

Hate to be blunt, but.... That sebae is in very poor condition, it is fairly bleached, and its tentacle length indicates that it is starving.

I wouldn't stress, IMO you're occs are just as likely to take a PH or veggie clip as host before either nem.
Occs seem to be the slowest at taking to nem hosts, and some never do, even w/ natural host nem.
Chance for hosting may be slightly better w/ natural host matches, but we cross match all the time.
It will probably take a while at that size, but agree, eventually that nem will outgrow your tank

But I do see some color/zooanthele and think it can recover.
Another note is those are usually sand dwellars.

yes i know it was bleached but of the 2 they had it still had a hint of tan,.. i put it there as its the highest place in my tank,. and it had never moved and stuck there and has wiggled here and there but still same place, i feed it gut load brine and mysis shrimp, thawed ,frozen from hikari,. and it love to eat,..

i know its a sand dweller, but it needed light and it seems to like it there,.
also i figured they are going to outgrow my tank,. but have a few more i can switch over to salt when the time comes,.
i have a 46 bowfront, and a 90,. but bbeing a newbe i want something smaleler to try on,.. instead of wasting all that $ one salt just to have it crash or something,.. so i'm just getting my feet wet,..

Yeah, a BTA would have been a better choice for tank size and lights, as well as clowns.
Chalk it up as a learning exp.
I'd let it heal before doing anything myself.

after i get it feeding more,.. been trying to get mh lights don't know much about them and was told to get 250w instead of 150w which is right?
will it help it any better or no?
do mh drive up energy bill lots? as i have 11 tanks running now and my bill is outa here,..

in the pics, i had only had it 24 hours, and it looks way better than it did,..

Well, priced right or free I'm sure someone would love to take it.
As for MH, really depends on tank depth and what you plan to keep, but my opinion on a 30g is 150w probably would be just fine depending on setup.
Maybe 150w MH and T5 combo?
11 tanks will run bill up for sure, as well as alot of maintenence.
Much easier to concentrate on less, course I've got 4 tanks going myself!LOL

May need to camp on it till a lil more color fills in, just depends on peeps comfort level.
