Second Annual Classroom Reef Open House!

Quick reminder: If you'd like table space and electricity, just shoot me a PM. I've got plenty of room! :D

With any luck, the webcam will be up and running by then. (It just arrived today!) That way folks who can't make it can live vicariously via the internet!

Scott, hopefully i'll be able to make it this year. Would love to see how the corals I donated are lookin from a year ago....

I'd def. like to try and make it! What a great opportunity to meet the folks around Rochester - and hopefully further out as well!! I don't have anything to trade, but I'll bring cash.

May I make a suggestion?? Would it be possible for those that do come to bring a name tag with their username and real name? I was bummed that I didn't know who was at ABC last year.

Hi folks,

Someone suggested that I incorporate some sort of educational piece or demonstration into the open house/swap, and I think it's a great idea.

Some of the cool things that I've seen at meets include Scott and Kent making DIY rock, Gary giving photo tips, Dr. Klier showing off the rock stacking/fiberglass rod technique, and I'm sure that there's more.

Is there anything that you would like to see at the meet? Better yet, is there anyone who would be willing to give a 20-30 minute talk or demonstration on something reefy?

Thanks for any ideas you have!:spin3:

Darn... I just found out that I'm going to be traveling again that weekend. Some people may have seen it before, but I would have gladly fragged one of my BTAs for demonstration.

Scott, depending on what the feedback is... i could set up an easel and do some of my reef sculpting painting.

I know there are a few of you OUT THERE....
I'd like to see some of the DIY LED fixtures that I have been reading about.
I'm not just talking Moon lights --- I mean the real deal:spin2:

Trust me... I can handle the electronics. I just want to know what parts and considerations went into building them. YES.. I can read. but there is nothing like seeing these in person with the guy or gal that built it.

That would be a very cool idea. While I am not electronicaly inclined I would love to see one of these set-ups. If it was over a tank it would be even better. doesnt have to be a full reef just a frag tank or something to get an idea of how it looks

Tim

To those who are coming to this, feel free to post up frag info if you're bringing. A girl has to budget for these things... :D
