Second Shipment Coming This Evening

I am going to be recieving my second shipment tonight and I always think of the questions when I get off the phone with Richard. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I was wondering if I am going to have to acclimate my new critters before putting them into the tank like I would usually do with the purchase of a new fish?

I have usually in the past just added a little water at a time to the bag that the fish is in but I am sure there are better ways to doing this like some sort of drip.....can someone tell me how you acclimate your fish?

Thanks,

LJ

yes, acclimate critters
i did mine same as you
added a little water to bag every so often
everything survived following this very specific scientific method

There's a sheet describing acclimation for critters in the second half of the package.

I tend to be a bit more conservative than TBS; I give the serpent stars two hrs of acclimation (salinity shock is bad for starfish), and instead of every 15 minutes for the "drip", I did it every 5 minutes (and took water out of the bag when the bag got too full.)

I did not have a instruction sheet with the shipment! Yikes....I have been acclimating them for about an hour right now. They all seem to be doing very well.

Richard,

Well, there was a clear pouch taped to the box but there was not papers in there, it was empty. Is that also where the packing list was? Maybe the airport might have taken them accidently.

I acclimated them for 2 hours and put everyone in, they all seem to be doing great this a.m.

I also had a octopus on one of the rocks, he is in another tank at the moment.

The rock is awsome, and it seems as days go by things even get better, that is how it was with the first shipment. So much color!

The anemone was wonderful surprise as well.
