second Tunze turbelle stream fails....

I bought two Turbelle streams (6100) and the 7095 multi-controller when I set up my first tank in Sept 06. The first pump failed in Sept 07 (and I still haven't got it back from Tunze UK---I need to check on that after Christmas and maybe follow it up with you if I don't get a result with Tunze UK)
Last night the second pump failed!!!!!!!
I am less than impressed and not at all happy as you can imagine! I really thought I was buying a top of the range product when i got this equipment and I feel extremely disappointed.
Have I just been unlucky?
Is this a common experience?
The second pump had been cleaned a few weeks ago when I upgraded my tank so I know it's not clogged up....
I would value your comments on my experience and would like to know whether I should trust a Tunze pump again???
I bought a third Turbelle stream in October while I was waiitng for the first one to come back from being fixed---now I am wondering whether I should have another make of pump on standby for when that one fails!!
Thanks for your input!

Did you check the 24v or 15v jumper. I had one that just failed yesterday only to find out the jumper failed (like a fuse). I changed out the failed 24v for the 15v and it works fine (albeit at a slower speed until I can figure out where to get a replacement jumper).

sorry to be so dim but what is a jumper and in which part of the pump will I find it? :o I'm glad it sorted out your pump and I hope it will sort out mine but if you could let me know where it is and what it looks like I'd be grateful!!! Thanks!

Does your Model end in "01"? Correct me if Im wrong but I dont think the 6100's have a jumper.Just the newer laptop style.

6101 has the jumper and the laptop power supply(no alarm when pump fails just stops)

6201 has no jumper only running at 24v and the laptop power supply(no alarm when pump fails just stops)

6000/6100/6200 has the silver box containing the electronics and the round ac adaptor(these models have audible alarm when pump fails)

It is not common but without knowing more about the circumstances and when the pumps were made it is hard for me to begin to diagnose the problem. I would work with Tunze UK, this is a difficult time of year as the factory will be closed until January 7th and if Tunze UK doesn't have a part it will likely be mid January before they are able to get it.
