Seeing some difference!!

It look's as if the Ca reactor is making a difference, all my SPS seems to be responding well to it.

I had to get my Ca boosted, it was around 300ppm and the Alk was 5 or 6 dKH. Added some CaCl (Prestone Driveway Heat) on Randy Holmes Farley's advice and gradually brought the Ca up to 450 ppm +. The reactor raised the Alk to 11 + dKH and I have things steady now with the pH @ 8.3. We'll see how it looks in a month or so at these levels. Wish me luck!

I'm going to head to Phishy Business in the next couple of weeks for an ATO to help maintain the sump level better than I do manually... And so it's not such a pain for somebody when we go away...

I will say the Coralife reactor's quality and setup are a little sketchy. The pump seems very much under powered for other units I've seen. Certainly not close to an Eheim 1048 like on GEO's base model.
There's most likely an upgrade down the road. Maybe a neighborhood build....:D I've been looking at some ideas that definately are not rocket science!!!
Realistically I'd say under a hundred bucks in materials even for a dual chamber with regular PVC (not clear), and assuming an Eheim 1048.

i was looking at the Coralife unit but was unsure of the quality. I thought you replaced it with a better unit.

I had that tiny Knop C that I never set up and bought the Coralife from a guy that was at the CORA swap last Fall. Sold the Knop and had much better equipment with the Coralife purchase (regulator, solenoid, and a 10lbs tank rather than the 5lbs one). The Coralife is supposed to be good for 500 gallons but I have serious doubts about that claim although for my SPS load it's working good... mostly... My biggest problem has been that the flow through is controlled on the suction side of the pump rather than the discharge. It's regulated by pinching the intake tube and that tube seems to get pinched too far after a while and shuts down the flow. I may try some 1/4" tubing on the discharge with a JG ball valve to see what happens.

I ran one for a while I sprung a leak so I got a mrc dual reactor.for the money the coralife is ok will do the job if you don`t want to spend more then 160.00(for the 500 one)
