Seeking gen 1 Radion experienced input

I have 2 gen 1 XR30W units over my 56 gallon tank. Dude said he didn't run them very long for what that's worth. Anyway.... I plan to do the gen 3 upgrades through Ecotech in about 2 months when funds will allow but in the meantime I need to get these up to snuff.

My issue is that I have been advised by a source I have trusted for years to hike these up to 100% on all channels and use the acclimation mode too spread it over 4 weeks. My concern is bleaching corals and algae bloom, but he knows the lights better and also has a significantly bigger tank.

My tank is 36 inches long, 18 inches front to back, and 20 inches deep. Radions are 8 inches from the surface. Closest coral is about 6 inches from the surface.

What are your thoughts?

I also have 2 AI Primes that I am considering running as supplements. I was running these up until I got the radions at 80% with a 250w MH that ran for four hours.

I have a lot of ZOA's, hammer, torch, bubble tips, Yuma's, and a Stylo which is actually only 4 inches from the surface.

I would NOT run them up to 100%. Even with a much longer acclimation period.

There is a thread in the Ecotech that is a poll that Radion users have responded to that shows how high they have their Radions running at.
A small percentage do have them at 100% ( I would suspect they are sps dominate tanks).
The majority is much lower. I haven't looked at that thread in a while, but from what I remember, the majority is closer to 65%-70%.

In my mixed lps/softy tank I am at 65%, which is 25" deep.
I had it up to 70% for a few months and I noticed some of my lps were bleaching a little.

And for what it's worth, 2 xr30's is more than enough for your tank.

Mine are gen 3 upgrades from gen 1's

There is a calculator that would give you a pretty good idea of PAR at various depths and the spread for your gen1

According to the calculator, at the depth of 8'' I would keep it at around 80% for SPS dominated. This would give you a nice uniform spread of well under 300 PAR with a bit of a hot spot in the center at slightly over 300 PAR.

I would certainly run the acclimation cycle, probably around 6 weeks.

Thank you. I think I am going to bite the bullet on the upgrades a bit sooner. Apparently the gen 3 is significantly better than gen 1

Added both primes back to the mix with only cool blue, royal blue, and UV to supplement radions till I can get them upgraded.

We have a local reefer in our club and he has run one gen 1 on a 90g 36x24x25 for four years and it is currently set at 70%. You having two is more than enough.
