Seio`s Multicontroller

But ya know that controller would go nicely with a more reliable pump like a maxijet-mod perhaps? :D

I too am interested on its price tag.

It looks like they got by the restart issue by cutting the output down to 30% then back to 100%. That would keep the pump running all the time, just changing speeds.

What seio pumps are the least likely to start? I havent had that problem yet.

These pics were taken at a San Diego show. I would bet they will have an official stance on the product after it's official launch at the show.

I cant wait! Seios are a good product at a great price-range. If the controllers just bring the down to 30% instead of totally off, thats totally fine by me. Even my tunze makes too much racket when first flicking on. By only dropping power to 30%, you get the same effect, and the tanks flow patterns will change dramatically. Especially if you have multiple pumps.

The other cool thing is the needlewheels! They may be for a different pump though.
Recirculating skimmer DIY?

Pictures are from a canadian forum. Thats all I know about them.

Those ARE nice looking NW no doubt. I wonder if they would fit on a better pump though. I don't trust Rio pumps speaking from experience.

I've known people with problematic SEIOs with the 620, 820, 1100, and 1500 models. Seems like they're a hit or miss.

Hi Guys,
I`m in San Diego at a industry tradeshow and was very happy when I saw it.
Basically the units will out in four weeks give or take.
They throttle down the pumps to 30% and up to 100% you can adjust the duration of it.

They also have a Feed button I dont remember the duration but one was 8 min.

I asked the same question about adding more than 2 pumps on a power strip they said no it has a microprocessor that work individual pumps only max 2.

Pricing I really cant help with that at this time.

As for restrating issues I use a 1500 and a few times it stopped only due to debris jamming it up because I placed it directly on the rocks.

The units goes down to a soft flow then you see it increasing to 100%.

I could say one thing, they had quite a nice kaotic flow in the display tank.

Got one happy camper here!! If they are already on the market in Canada, why is it taking so long in the US, we're not dealing with the FDA are we?

Um... Where did you see that it was released in Canada already?

One question - have you ever owned a Seio, or are all your claims here about issues from others experiences?

Of all the people I _actually_ know who own seio's, _none_ have had a problem with restarts. I believe it happens, but I don't believe it is all that common. With this taking the motor down to 30%, I think it would be even less likely to be a problem. It'll be nice to see how the controller actually performs.

I think the restart problem is also hit or miss. I have an 1100 that I have had for a year and a half that has had a restart / startup problem since it was new out of the box.

I also have a new 1100 that I added to the tank a month ago and so far I have not had the same restart problem. I am batting .500 with them so far.

True I've never had a problem with my 820s I've had for 7 months, and I know a load of people who have them and never had any issues.

I'm quite sure that since TAAM (the company that makes Rio and SEIO) have a great opportunity to make tons of money off people who refuse to buy or cannot stomach paying for what Tunze's cost. I honestly believe they'll offer as much customer support possible, if that means sending out new pumps to replace faulty. We as customers need to give them an opportunity to help us, because of the money we shell out (which i haven't even come as close to some of you have, newbie here:D) we deserve that customer support.

I know I may get blasted for this one, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents.

^^ you bet. But to clarify my point, I'm not saying people _don't_ have this problem, I'm saying I don't believe it is all that common. In addition, IF restart IS a problem, this controller doesn't turn anything all the way off, so that would be a moot issue except in the case of power failure. It will be interesting to see exactly how well it actually performs.
