Seios and Pipefish don't mix !

I was keeping two banded pipefish in my full blow reef. They were both eating cyclopeeze and seemed to be healthy and doing well. I run 2 seio 1100's in my tank. I found the larger more outgoing one trapped in the Seio on Sunday morning. I found the other one trapped in it last night. I don't think this is a case of dead fish floating into them, I think they would swim into them at night when asleep so be warned.

yeah thats why I have nothing else but the return line in the tank, no power heads at all

did you loose both pipes?

Both. The second was still alive when I found it attached, but it died during the night. Interestingly, my acan lords caught the body and had almost completely digested it by this morning.

pipes are some what strong swimers for short bursts, but just like horses they usually loose a battle with over flows and power heads

if you have any pipes left, or just want to cover the intakes use a sponge or a DYI coverlike a little box around the intake secure with zip ties

I had tried something like that in between the death of the two. I have been wanting to set up a super peaceful 12 or 24 nano to keep goby/shrimp and barnacle blennies, do you think it would be irresponsible to try a pair in a tank like that?

Do you mean to keep the goby/shrimp and blennies in the same 24 gallon as a pair of seahorses?

Yes, I am concerned about a tank that size, not compatability so much. If your experience is different LMK
