Selling my large tank. Need help

I am going to downsize my operation. I have a 240 gal 8x2x2 tank, custom built stand which is all wood. I have a pro clear aquatics model 300 wet dry filter, an FX5 canister filter, two dual bulb 4' light strips and of course a bunch of vary koi stuff. Everything is in great shape and I have a friend that wants the tank, but I really don't have any idea of what I should ask for it. Anyone willing to help me out? It has only ever been a freshwater tank. Thanks in advance.

That depends on how you wish to approach this. Do you already have a price in mind that you are trying to justify? What's it worth to you to get rid of it? Or you could look around at various For Sale adds here and on places like Craig's List to see what equivalent used tanks are going for.

I guess I was thinking 1500-2000. But don't know if I'm close or not. I just want to be fair but don't want to give it away either.

Start with how much it cost new and go from there.

Depends on how good a friend he is, if you can see the tank setup in his house then that might help you let it go for a little less. If it were me I would look for the 1500$ mark
