Selling my tank to buy another

As many of you know I have been house hunting. Well we finally found a place and I've already scoped out a spot to put my dream in-wall tank. The tank will go in the garage and be viewable in the living room.

Before I do any of this I have two tasks to complete. Sell off my current tank and buy a larger one. The tank I have now is a 150 (60x24x24) Visio glass tank with polished glass front, corner overflow, and custom stand/canopy. The tank I'm looking for will need to be a 180+ glass with low-iron front panel and drilled for overflows and CL's. I only need the tank, no stand or accesories.

This thread is meant to serve two purposes... find a new home for my 150 and also find anyone parting with a larger tank. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
only 30 gallons bigger? come on if its your 1st home and your dream tank you gotta go at least 300 gallons....

He still has to live thru the first three months of house payments.

For in-wall setup, id' go as big as I can, cuase if you decide to go bigger later, it's gonna cost more money to tear up more wall.

Might want to check into whether wall is load bearing wall or not, cuase that might restrict how you work the frames around the tank.

Sticking with a 180 or 220 is partially based on finances. The lighting I have will adapt well to that size without adding extra equipment or load on my electric bill. Speaking of which... my Edison bill has gone up 80 bucks over the last 2 months! :eek2:

In regards to a load bearing wall, I'm sure it is so I will have extra cost in building the framing. This is a shared wall between the garage and living room. My plan is to do as much myself as I can and start with breaking away the wall from within the garage first to get a view of the structure. I'm the type of person that can build about anything but I may need to seek someone to help with the finish work to make it look clean. Before I do that I need to relocate the washer/dryer to the other side of the garage, which was a stipulation of my g/f :D
That alone will be a chore since I need to figure out how to move the drain under concrete. I think I have a solution... but now I'm getting off topic :p

I paid 1650 for the tank and stand so I'd go just under 50%, $800 and throw in a 50 gallon glass sump with some plumbing. I live in Arcadia and could deliver locally. I also have a frag tank setup but someone has dibs on that so far.
 
GF's are not allowed to stipulate unless she will do all your laundry for you. :) make sure you get it in writing.

it'll probably be easier for you to have your sump and equipment where you're planning to put the washer/dryer; be easier to deal with than the hot/cold and drainage.

if you need a cement saw, there's a cheap rental near where I am.

Lucky me, she already does, but get it in writing would be pushing it :p

I'll probably look into the cement saw locally.

Nope, I'm first hoping to find a used one. If that doesn't work I'll go new. I have so much to think about right now with organizing my move I don't really have time to run around tank shopping. Most of my livestock will be held in a huge fiberglass bin/sump until I can get setup again.

1200 for tank, stand 36"t, canopy 10"t, 2 400w blueline eballasts, 2 400w radium bulbs, spider reflector that cover the whole canopy and some plumbing. Here are some pics

Yinger, these links were broken. Do you have his name or could you ask him to contact me?

BlueLagoonSD - The only pics I have are in my gallery, which don't show the whole thing. I'll have to get some better pictures loaded.
 
Ken, did ya get the house in SD? The good thing about buying a house is you get all kinds of money back after escrow closes. We were getting all kinds of checks in the mail from both escrow's lenders when we bought our last house. They over shoot the cost all the time:D
