Introduction:

I would like to thank everyone for voting for my tank this month! I have been keeping reef tanks for approximately 10 years now and nTOTM has always been one of my goals. I bought this tank used about a year ago and dove into the SPS world. I have been addicted every since! The tank was setup in Tampa for about 8 months and then I had to move to Nashville and it has been set up for about 4 months here. Everything is really settling in nicely and starting to grow like crazy!

Lighting:

Luckily, I bought this tank from Keith (owner of Elite Reefs) and the hood had already been modified with the current lighting! I am running a Phoenix 150W DE MH bulb along with two (2) 36W PC's as supplements in the original hood. I replace the PC's every 8-9 months and the MH every 11-12 months.

Photoperiod : PC's: 12:00pm "“ 10:00pm
MH: 1:00pm "“ 8:00pm

Maintenance:

I keep a pretty tight grip on the maintenance of the tank. I do a 10% water change twice a week. I like changing small quantities more often to lessen the shock on the tank. I replace the carbon and GFO about every 3 weeks. I clean the glass every other day. I clean the skimmer & pumps monthly.

Very well deserved, that clam is outrageous!

Just shows the evolution of nanos in this hobby, such small and diverse tanks like this were not heard of years ago.

Great looking SPS. Much deserved TOTM. How much b-ionic do you dose daily to keep up levels?

I dose 19mL spread out into 12 small doses of both part one and part two dayly. I also manually dose magnesium - will set it up shortly to be dosed by the third pump.

Congratulations!! Very well-deserved.

I see something like a Brightwell Aquatics Coral Amino Acids and Lugols solution in your stand. Do they make a big difference in the way your corals grow or the way they color up?
