I've had a chromis who was starting to act kind of strange. First he wasn't eatting much, kind of sluggish, and then for two days he hung out in the corner of the tank. He was still eatting at that point. The next day he got some red blotches on him and quit eatting. He quit eatting and that day he went into the hospital tank. He's not eatten since, that was 8 days ago. On easter weekend, I woke up to a dead Moorish Idol (RIP), but everyone else has been fine since this guy.

Treatment:
Day 1, dose 2xMaracyn-2 (M2)
Day 2, dose 2xM2
Day 3, dose 1xMaracyn (M1), 1xM2
Day 4, dose 1xM1, 1xM2
Day 5, dose 1xM1, 1xM2
Day 6, dose 1xM1
Day 7, dose 2xM1, 2xM2
Day 8, today...nothing yet.

I do a 75-90% water change every day. Days 1 through 5 he was sluggish, sat on the bottom in the corner rapid breathing. Day 6 was a little better, swam a little, but sat some too. Red blotches all gone and pink spot where the spot is now. No eatting though. Day 7 looked a little worse, so I think I need to continue the anti-biotic.

Definately a spot on him now. I thought maybe it was ich, but it looks too big and too pink. Pics are posted below. Click for better

I definately do not want to do copper if I don't have to. Last he ate was week from yesterday. Not sure what to do.

What do you think it is? I was thinking maybe a bacterial ulcer maybe? He's not much changed from yesterday.

Thx

Sounds like a common problem with chromis. I suggest removing the Maracyn (mostly worthless anyway) and the Maracyn-Two (good antibiotic but not for this instance). Then treat the fish with nitrofurazone for 3 to five days. Get nirtofurazone that is not mixed with another medication if possible. Furan2 is another choice, but it combines nitrofurazone with another antibiotic.
