Hello everyone. I am having a serious problem with my tunze osmolator. It appears as if the sensor is not picking up the water level whatsoever. I've taken the sensor out, cleaned it, and to no avail. Even when out of water the controller shows my water as being level.I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again and that doesnt work. What do I do? I've only had this thing for 2 months. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are only a few possibilities- the sensor is covered in lime- soak it in vinegar and this will remove the lime and it will work again. This tends to happen when large amounts of kalk are added to the sump. The other possibility is the circuit board got wet. In which case it is ruined and not a warranty issue but I can get you a discounted replacement of just the circuit board. The third case is the sensor has a small pin hole in the seal at the top where the wire enters and is shorted. In which case I can replace the optic sensor. I need to know ASAP and if there is a problem it needs to be sent back right away as Friday is my last work day before I leave for Germany and I won't be back for three weeks. My help will not be capable of making such repairs. If you cannot fix it with the vinegar soak (1hr) and opening the case shows no obvious green corrosion send it to me tomorrow by 3 day or faster shipping. Priority mail will be your cheapest option.

I found the problem. I opened up the case and it looks like one of the leads from the optical sensor detached from the solder point on the board. I'm going to go ahead and re-solder it today.
