I recently noticed that I have way more serpent stars than what I started with. I think I added about 2 maybe 3 in my aquarium over the years and now I can't count how many I have. they have been having babies like crazy. at night if I put a flashlight on my rockwork I notice it icover it baby stars and every samll piece of rock I pick up they are about 5-10 underneath. oviousely they all will not survive, but obviosely allot have survinved to adulthood. my question is, can these guys eventually become pests? I have nocied just about every small fish in my aquarium is gone except my clowns which never leave the safety of th anemone. my tangs are have not been effected as they are too big. do these stars attack fish a regualr basis.

When I feed, these guys come out fo the rock work like rats. everywhere almost as if the entire rockscape is alive, its actually pretty amaxing to see.

any feedback is helpful, and will harlequin shrimp do a number on these guys?

The ones you're seeing are most likely adults of the small species that tend to hitchhike in. The large number of them indicates large amounts of food for them. They're harmless scavengers and filter feeders.
