I am setting up a new large tank for LPs SPS soft's and fish and I need to use good lighting and the most energy efficient the tank is 120Lx30Wx36D any ideas on what type and how many for good groth and color pop Thank's

I'm not sure what wattage you are trying to stay under but a tank that size is probably going to use quite a bit of energy.

If it were mine I would go with....

4x 400w Radiums on full luminarc reflectors with specd ballast, 4x 5' VHO super actinics, and 4x 5' T5 blue plus bulbs.

My tank is a 8'x3'x2'H

I run 4x Radium 20k 250w Halides, 4x 54w Blue+ T5s, and 2 160w URI Super Actinic 03 VHOs over my tank.... color is great. Corals really pop.

Thank's for your reply on my 144 I have 2 400w coralvue 12k reeflux bulbs with the lumen bright reflectors and I was hopeing to only have to add one more and space them evenly and put t5s in between them hopeing to have the best of both worlds

I would say at least five 400watt MH's... If it were me I would have six. I have four 400watt 12k reeflux on my 360gal (96x36x24) with four 48" T5's..

Here are a few pics. The T5's are not on. I'm waiting for the canopy to get finished before I install them.
