setting up an emergency overnight hospital tank

hello,

my psychadelic mandarin about 10 minutes ago started floating with the current and heavily breathing. I have had it for 8 months and is fat and a decent size from what I've seen. I want to pluck him from my tank overnight and then hopefully partner with a LFS or someone one on here! I do not have a hospital tank. I have been out of town for 8 days and had friends taking care of the tank. I'm not really sure what else I can do at this point aside throwing food at it. Any help out there? Thanks!

Ah i should of mentioned. I have a 10gal tank in my basement (old sump) but not filtration system or anything. How many hours is a tank okay without a pump?

with a fish in it? you want circulation. there has to be someone out your way with a spare pump...otherwise, go to Wallies and pick up a cheap one just to keep the water moving.

I have a small hob filter and / or an air pump that you can borrow if you need it. I'm in cheektowaga but won't be home until around 4PM. Your welcome to use them if you like.

quaranting can do more harm than good in some cases. IMO this sounds like one of those cases.

my starfish was on him when i woke up, i gave him a proper burial, i liked him too much to not see that starfish do its destruction. Thanks for the help everyone
