setting up apex email using aol

i have been trying this all day. unofficial manual says to use
smtp.aol.com as server.
587 as port
from my email address
to my email address

what am i doing wrong??

Email enable Enabled Disabled >>>> check enabled
SMTP Server >>>>smtp.aol.com
SMTP port (Default 25) >>>>587
From: address >"your Aol username"@aol.com
To: address >"your AOL username"@aol.com
Alt To: address > I use my cell phone for text here
Re-email delay (minutes) > I use 60 minutes
Email authentication Enabled Disabled > check enabled
User name >> AOL username
User password >> AOL password

I couldn't attend this one. They're talking about another one before the end of the year. Hopefully I can make that 1.
Glad you got it working. What kind of triggers are you using for the e-mail? right now I only have mine set for temperature (high or low). I need to set up another trigger for PH or perhaps a low/high sump level.

i havent set any triggers yet, trying to get the basics up and running before i attempt advanced programming. what is your program for temp and ph? the last time that i tried writing any type of code was when i was using an old 386 pc.

I haven't got around to setting the PH trigger yet I just have one for high and low temp.
