Setting up Diablo 160XS, water level question.

I'm finally setting up my new skimmer in a temporary sump, the problem is that I can't seem to find the proper water level. I have the skimmer in 8.5-9" so I'm good there but where does the internal water level need to be? I thought I'd seen a sticker on it but it must be facing the wrong side.

I have mine in 8" of water with the bubbles breaking about halfway up the neck of the skimmer and that seems to work for me. It will take time to dial in anyway as it breaks in.

There is a min. and max water level sticker on it. I run mine at max level and it runs great. It takes a few weeks to break in so you may have to make minor adjustments.

I thought I saw a sticker..

Problem is, I can't see it now with the skimmer crammed into my (temporary) mini sump. i only have a small area to put my sump, so until i build my 25"x16"x16h sump i have to make due with a petco $1/gal 20H and a third of it is fuge. For now i have the skimmer, media bags, heaters and return, all in one 12"x15" chamber. I wont be seeing the sticker any tine soon.

I run mine with water level just at the base of the neck. Skimmer sits in 9" of water. Sometimes I adjust its bit higher.

I used to run mine at 9-9.5" of water. For me, it ran best at deeper water. 3 days worth of nog. I used it on my 75 Gallon for a while and it ran alot better when I had used it in my 120 Gallon. Coralvues site suggest 8"-9.5"

Thanks all! Thanks especially to OffDaHook, those photos are exactly what I needed. If my unit has those decals for "level Max" and "level Min" (hiding behind the valve) I can't see 'em. I can see the whole neck and there'd nothing there and I can see 75% of the rest of the body, still nothing. Now that I know where they should be, I'll just set it accordingly.
