setting up my tank..... any suggestions

The chaeto will help. Do you have a phosphate test kit? Don't remember seeing one but do you have a reactor in your sump?

nope i don't have a phosphate kit yet... i'm not running a calcium reactor ether and not planning to do so.. i'll be dosing 2-part...

Sorry for the misunderstanding... I was asking about a GFO or Carbon reactor.

do a really need one of those or what are my other way around?

Not a necessity but it's a more efficient way of running GFO media and/or carbon. The other way around is to put some in a filter bag and drop it in a high flow area of your sump. Not as efficient but will work. ;)

Your tank is also really new so all this might work itself out. Time will tell. If it were me I'd nip it in the bud sooner than later.

how much do you think i'll be spending to get something like that running?

If you bought it from BRS then it would be right around 60 bucks depending on the media and reactor you choose. They have a couple different GFO's and reactors to choose from.

i'm going to buy first a phosphates test kit... and see where is the level at....

That's what I would do. :) I would almost bet it's simply because your tank is new. But, the goal is to keep nitrates and phosphates as low as possible which is difficult to do.

so far my nitrate is at 0 so i'm not having problem with that....
man i just love the way the tank is turning out... it takes time but it's worth every single penny, i have put into this hobby.... i'm not a person that likes to wait on anything but i'm learning how to take my time with this hobby...

I hear that H. Your hard work and patience has really paid off. Both are attributes that successful hobbyists have. Your tank looks great. ;)
