Setting-up new system

Hello all- I'm upgrading my existing 180 to a new 180 rimless. My plan is to put all water in trash cans and all livestock in 2 55's I have in the basement. As far as the substrate, I was thinking I'd get brand new, rinsing it thoroughly beforehand. My question is: what substrate should I get? I prefer CaribSea, but not sure if I should get the Arag-Alive, or the dry Aragonite. Thoughts? I'm open to other ideas concerning manufacturers, it's just that I've always used CaribSea. Also, how many pounds should I get for a 180? I don't want a DSB"”maybe 1.5". Thanks!

Go with the look you like. No magic in a bag will change how much you hate it three months later if you hate it now.

Getting a bit chilly for a driveway wash - doing this in the tub? Makes my back ache just thinking about it. Preload the Advil.
