I am pretty new to the whole salt water hobby and I have been doing my research on powerheads and was wondering what would be good for me to get. I am not sure if I am able to afford this but I was thinking about getting 2 6100's and then over time adding a wavebox. Does this sound sufficient? Or would you guys recommend me doing something else.

It sounds like too much, tell me more about what you plan to keep and the tank dimensions.

The tank demensions are 48 by 24 by 24 as far as what I am going to be keeping in there I would say that I am going to start off with FOWLR for the time being and as I keep learning eventually graduate int o a reef tank. I guess the other reason that i am asking about the powerheads is because I heard that they should be used in the container when curing the live rock which is next on my list to do

I figure its better to get something good now for the live rock and then just put it in the tank when I am done. I mean money is not a super issue but I am not sure if I would regret getting a cheaper name brand everyone recommends tunze

I think you would be fine with 2 6000's and this would give you plenty of upgradeability if you move more into corals.
