Xmas came early this year :) ... Managed to get a Demo Model of Ecoxotic's 17.5" Panorama LED fixture and Solana's 25g 18" Cube tank to try out and see what kind of coral growth this baby can produce ...
Im going to do this thread kinda like a journal entry so that we can look back and see the progress

For equipment I completely gutted the Solana so all the stock equipment is gone ( ie: skimmer, return pump, pads/sponges, everything)
This is the equipment i will be using in this setup besides tank and fixture
25w stealth heater
Tunze 9002 DOC skimmer
Tunze Osmilator auto-topoff w/ geo kalk reactor
Reefkeeper Lite
Sicce 2.0 submersible return pump
1 Ecoxotic Panorama LED module
4 Ecoxotic Stunner Strips 2 blue 2 purple

This will be a mixed reef with a few softies, mainly LPS and some sacrifical SPS
For liverock I have'nt decided yet if I'm going to use the Vanuatu and Marshall rock I have in my main display or pick some up from work

Just got everything unpacked and attached to the stand ... put 5g of water in the tank to weigh the stand down and make sure the stand and tank were sitting properly

I'm not one for open top Solana / euro-esc tech-looking tanks, but that's cool.

It'll be interesting to see it's development.

What's the light equivalency to T-5’s or MH’s??

7/11 Got the liverock in the tank and all equipment is up and running

Had a redhead and tiger goby in a little 5g pico so I moved them both into this bigger tank

Couldn't say yet Mako ... people make a lot of claims as to their PAR performance but I don't have any prior experience with them ...
The shimmer they produce is really intense though ( even more than MH imo ) and the color is right-on so I think it looks really nice ( somewhere around 14 or 15k with two of the 453 nm stunner modules running )
They produce no heat at all and since the temp in the house is round 75/76 I actually had to plug the heater in just to keep the tank above 78
Every nano Ive ever setup had metal halides so they always have had heat and evaporation issues but Ive noticed that even with the open-top setup after a week my auto-topoff bucket is still filled up to the top .. Im pretty sure Im going to put my Osmilator back on my 90 since its wasted on this setup

excited to see things grow! i have been considering 2 of these lights for my tank. good luck with your build and merry early christmas! i will be back to check on this soon!

I really like that you are keeping up with this I been really interested in LED tanks, looks great by the way

Everything was doing fine what he has told me. He can't reply to this thread anymore since RC banned him. He really thinks it's as good as a MH or better for intensity so far.

the tank was a group project so Ill probably be picking up the torch for Cabinetguy since he is not around anymore so that people can see the updates ... this thread is going to die out though
