Nice Tank, but getting TOTM seems to be harder and harder....this month there isnt even one good enough! Instead we got a lame "How its done" Lecture!!!!! Come on Melev...this is the second time since you started editing!

See!!!! Joe's tank could have been TOM instead!!!!!!

Wow 48 emeralds in a 220. That would be like putting 9 in my 40 breeder. So you haven't had any trouble with them picking at your corals?

BTW your reef looks like it's top quality, but I'm missing the truly unique part. The list of 7 things could potentially be renamed "The list of most common items successful reefers employ." Like I said, your reef looks like great success, I don't believe it brings any new invention or methodology past the density of emeralds.

Your tank is definetely very nice and a success for you, but there are many tanks floating around here of higher caliber that have not received TOTM.

Nice tank. I really like the aquascaping and rimless look. Although, I don't believe it is TOTM worthy.

Here are 2 of my favorites for comparison:

it needs time to grow in, but is looking good with a lot of potential. I don't really like your light pendants, they don't match the sophistication of the rest of the design. What fish and corals are actually in your tank. I see a yellow tang and some stonies that is about it. Who made your tank. Can we see the equipment layout? What husbandry techniques do you use? I actually think you packed too much rock in, especially when you make comments about the usefulness of negative space.

The corals and fish look healthy and happy, the tank is gorgeous, but I don't yet see the finished product of a reefcentral totm.

It's a really nice tank...much nicer than mine, but I don't think it's TOTM material right now. Give it some time to mature, and I think it could definitely be a contender. The aquascaping is great, and there are some very nice corals...both of which definitely lend to it's appeal

I agree about the 10k. Wild growth while I had my Ushio 10k, and I'm not happy with Reeflux 12.
I have the darnedest time trying to keep emeralds---I'm suspecting pistol shrimp are assassinating them. Maybe I'll try again.

Nice tank. Give it another year or two of growing and I think you'll definitely have TOTM material.

What is so special about pin cushion urchins?

Beautiful tank but, too young... like mine. Although, since there was no TOTM this month... yours or mine would have filled the void.

I honestly wish you lived closer to me! I would love to come over and stare for hours! Is it just me or would anyone else rather stare at their tank than watch tv? Lol, anyway, great looking tank. You should be proud

Your display is very nice!!!! But there are a few things that you and your display are lacking. First most TOTM are far more grown in with many colonies. My biggest issue is that all of the people who have been graced with this title are very humble and would never think to campaign themselves for the title. One of the great qualities that many people share on this forum is their lack of being an elitist. The people that have figured it out will happily share experiences with the novice and answer the most redundant questions without any attitude. The TOTM is for those who are elected and would never expect or care if they were ever elected. Is your display stunning, absolutely. Your success with the magnifica a rarity, absolutely. Are you forgeting the reason for the hobby?????????.......... Tim

Yes, I stare at my tank for hours instead of my 60" hdtv. Even to the point when my wife asks "Are you even watching this?" That's when my concentration is broken and i get up and start fiddling with something on or in the tank. So of course she turns the tv off and storms into another room muttering something about loving those [expletive delete] fish more.
