Sexeh Shrimp

posted this in the invert section and then realized that there wasnt very many people there to help me out D: (me and one other person)

SO here we go again

after much thought
i will not be getting a bumblebee shrimp for my dwarf seahorse
i will get a few sexy shrimp (maybe 2...unless 3 is an infinitely better number) thought bumblebee was smaller but seems sexy shrimp are smaller

my question
would the sexy shrimp go after the copepods/brine shrimp/ect that is meant for the seahorse? or will they scavenge and eat mysis or whatever else i feed them

is there one they might do over the other?
like if i kept them fed (target fed) would they leave the other stuff alone? or would they prefer the dead stuff to the live stuff?

I used to feed mine those pellet type foods meant for bottom feeders/shrimp/crabs.

yeah i was puttering around looking for info and i saw pics of people handing them those pellets with tongs


with the pellets
should i feed them each the whole thing and suck it out when they dont want it anymore or cut it in half or whatever based on the size of the shrimp

Sexy Shrimp, aka Anemone Shrimp, tends to like meatier stuff. To me, they are vastly preferable to bumblebees in a Dwarf SH tank, but that's an opinion.

I like them because they'll eat the same food as your dwarfs; shrimp. They'll learn to eat freeze dried mysis and happily munch on artemii, but you should seriously consider gut-loading those if you use them (I don't).

And as far as the pods go, even without these shrimp in your tank, the local pod population won't sustain your horses for very long. Plan to use mysis as the bulk of the SH food, with some of the other special options for variance/fun.

The sexy shrimp will enjoy that diet as well.

as for the food stuffs
imma have all kinds of things
bbs pods frozen freeze dried liquid...gonna see if i cant get the little guys to eat something besides live...i know it will be hard but im sure its possible. i figure if the dead stuff is presented with the live stuff maybe they will have a go at it as well
glad to know the sexiest shrimp of them all will be a good clean up addition...seeing as it will eat anything the horses dont
