Sexy Shrimp vs. Clowns in anemone?

Cleaner shrimp can become aggressive and I have had them tear apart inverts to get the food inside......

yep, i agree, they are bad, but surpent starfish are far worst (sorry u did not mention surpent but i thought i would add)

i have Duncans and mushrooms that i need to feed, If i have shrimps, they will steall all the food.......... :eek2:

If target feeding your coral cleaner shrimp do steal food from them and although it's annoying you can put a plastic cup over corals like scolymia to let them eat all their food. I don't mind the cleaner shrimp stealing the food because they are doing their job at cleaning/preventing detritus.

Sexy shrimp don't clean sand. I have 6 of them; one female lives with a mini maxi and gets an occasional visit from a male from the group of 5 shrimp (3 females, 2 males) that live in my duncan colonies. At night when the duncans close up the group spreads out over the tank, usually to the gorgonians. They will sometimes hop onto the sandbed from the duncans for food, but stick to those few square inches.

If you want sand-stirrers specifically, get nassarius snails and a fighting conch. The conch will always be out and about working, and the nassarius will come out at feeding time (especially for mysis) and again after lights out.

I see my Sexy Shrimp near the anemones, but the fish and anemone crabs don't let them in the anemone.

So far I only found anemone crab to be able to coexist with clownfish (A. percula), and only if the anemone is large enough. Even anemone shrimp will get kicked out by either the crabs or the fish.

I found S. tapetum (maxi mini) to be an ideal host for anemone shrimp as fish don't take them as hosts and anemone crabs only when no other anemones are available.
